Hey! Ariel here. I just wanted to give you a big, warm welcome and tell you I am so excited to begin working on your project! I promise to give you my very best work, but in order to do that, I need a little help from you. This page will tell you exactly what I need you to do before we begin working together and provide you with a few tips and tricks to help you help ME provide my best work for you.
Good design and website strategy will help convert more website visitors into subscribers and customers, bring in more inquiries, make you look more professional and ‘seasoned’ in your industry, and take you from where you are now to where you dream of being!
Now, I know you may not have worked with a designer before so maybe you’re nervous about the process. But don’t worry, you have nothing to fear. Here’s what other clients have recently said about me:
This is my way of securing your spot in the queue and ensuring you are serious
about moving forward with the project
This is a collaborative process - I’ll need your input just as much as you’ll rely on me for design. Completing questionnaires ensures I have a solid foundation to start your project from.
No matter what project we are working on, having all your content and business
details ready to go is a must - whether we are undertaking a branding project,
new website, or a print job, knowing the ins and outs are imperative!
I believe you deserve to run a business that does not rob you of your treasured moments. I keep separate so I can focus on family when I am with them and work with I have my office hours.
During your project, we will primarily use email to communicate. This helps me keep everything organized and allows me to do the best job I can. I do my best to reply to all communication regarding active projects within 48 hrs (during my office hours) If need be we can schedule a chat via zoom/ phone. Scheduling in advance allows me to keep my work from being interrupted and my schedule intact.
To help keep your project on track to finish on time, please provide all feedback within 7 business days of hearing from me.
I really appreciate your effort to provide files and feedback on time and to communicate within the times and days outlined above. Timeliness from both of us will help us get your project done on (or even before!) the deadline so you can move on to the next exciting task on your to-do list and I can cheer you on.
Now you’re booked in my schedule, we’ll stop using email to have our conversation and we’ll start using my project management tool, Asana.
A project management tool is a secure space online where we have conversations, share files, set reminders, and create to-do lists.
Whereas files often get lost when I’m managing projects through email, nothing gets lost or forgotten in Asana. It’s the simplest way to keep your project organized and make sure it goes as smoothly as possible!
Don’t worry – you won’t need to pay for this tool and it’s not hard to use. Click the button to watch a 2-minute tutorial on how to use it!
+ I will send you an invite via email!
Do … be transparent. I can’t fix something if I don’t know it’s not clicking for you. If you aren’t into something, you gotta say something.
Do ... leave nothing to the imagination. I wanna know the details of what doesn’t feel or look right. And if you’ve got a reason for it, even better. I want to know it all.
Do … clarify your concerns. The last thing I want you to feel when looking at something is, “Why did she choose that?” Ask me where something came from and I can explain the strategy behind it. In fact, I would LOVE to explain the strategy behind it.
Do … remember where we started. Before opening my designs, I would encourage you to remind yourself why you reached out to me in the first place. What were you seeking, what were you hoping for? Try to frame your feedback through those original goals.
Do … remember who this is for. Your clients and their opinions matter just as much as yours do when it comes to your brand. Think about how they will interpret this or interact with this design.
Don’t … show this to everyone you know (yet). We don’t want too many voices weighing in on this. It pulls you away from the goals you’ve set for yourself and your business and it muddies my understanding of what you want. Keep this between you and me until we refine it a little more.
Don’t … assume the worst. Nothing about this is permanent or unable to be fixed, tweaked, and changed. If something doesn’t feel right, the world hasn’t ended and I believe in both of us to make it better. Together.
Don’t … make detailed design suggestions. I want to brainstorm with you, not back and forth. Just alerting me of the things that don’t work are enough to get us started. We’ll come up with new ideas together rather than in emails.
Thanks for understanding! I can't wait to create something AMAZING for your project.
